Collections
Each year we celebrate the Spring Racing Carnival with an extravagant launch. These events are staged of an unusual venue with the invitations being sent to the press and a few select guests. Here we release to the world at large our looks for the season. These collections have been inspired by everything from fractured fairytales to rollercoasters and the natural environment.
The Birds of Paradise | August 2011 | |
The spring launch of 2011, Inspired by the books, Birds of Paradise by Clifford B. Frith and Dawn W. Frith and Feathers for Phoebe by Rod Clement. Staged at Madame Brussels, Bourke Street, Melbourne. Models included the legendery Diane Masters as the Buff-tailed bird of paradise, Elise May as the Blue bird of paradise, Ajah Dau as the Emperor bird of paradise, La-Toyah James Raggiana bird of paradise, Lydia Licorice as Phoebe, Nicole De Silva as Zelda and Paris Kyne as the Birdcatcher. | ||

Attitude and Altitude | September 2009 | |
The 2009 spring launch of Paris Kyne Master Milliner was staged at MARs Gallery, Port Melbourne as an official event in the Spring Racing carnival. Network 9s Brodie Harper acted as master of ceremonies and staring the amazing Elise May as one of the celebrity models. | ||

The spring launch of 2009. The shoot was executed in May, so that we would have time to piece all the components of Here Kitty together. The launch was held at Birth, Docklands in September at an evening cocktail function. All the clothing was made to measure by Black Rose couture with Paris wearing vintage Hall Ludlow. | ||

In 2008, Being inducted into the City of Stonnington – Fashion Hall of Fame is the greatest honour Paris has ever received, his two favourite Australian designers, Jenny Bannister and Karen Merkel are both past inductees. | ||
Just a Moment | August 2007 | |
The 2007 spring launch of Paris Kyne Master Milliner was shown at the National Trusts Portable Iron Houses in South Melbourne. It was a fairy tale event with each hat created inspired by one of Paris favourite fairy tales. | ||
Silence | September 2006 | |
Whilst at the official launch of Motorola Melbourne Spring Fashion Week in 2006 Paris met Cathy Madigan from New Quay and photographer Saville Cobel. One conversation lead to another and two weeks later they shot Silence, a set of eight black and white images. The location was the silence series of sculptures by Victorian artist Adrian Mauriks. | ||
Neptunes' Angels | August 2006 | |
The 2006 spring launch of Paris Kyne Master Milliner was shown at the Coral Atoll, Melbourne Aquarium. Six models wore 1890s reproduction swimwear made exclusively for this event by The Library of Costume and Design. The entire range was inspired by the sea and its inhabitants and showed submerged splendour through six colour themed sections including jelly fish, shells, coral, the Yarra-Yarra river and the sea itself. The creation of this range utilised ideas that have been floating around in the filing cabinet for years. | ||

The Spring Launch of 2005. Shown in the Prop Room, Mannequin Revolution, Jessie Street, Richmond. The Prop Room contains approximately 300 naked mannequins, Paris added 5 live models dressed in Cinema Haute Couture and asked during his welcome speech Who is real, who is fake, what do we perceive as real beauty and the ideal body shape? Is perfection just illusion? | ||
A Fiery Romance | August 2004 | |
The Spring launch of 2004. Shown in the Engine Room of the Fire Services Museum of Victoria, corner of Gisborne Street and Victoria Parade, East Melbourne. The Engine Room houses the southern hemispheres largest collection of restored fire engines and was built in 1890. The lookout tower behind it was the tallest structure in Melbourne at that time and was then known as the Eastern Hill Fire Station. | ||

The Spring Launch of 2003. Shown on the balcony over looking the pool at the Melbourne City Baths, corner Swanston and Victoria Streets, Melbourne, Victoria. The City Baths are owned by the City of Melbourne with the balcony and entire front section of the baths being 99 years old at the time of the launch. | ||
The Theatre of Fashion | August 2002 | |
The Spring launch of 2002. Shown in the Dame Nellie Melba Foyer (upstairs) at the then recently renovated Her Majestys Theatre on Exhibition Street, Melbourne, Victoria. The theatre had been purchased a few years earlier by Australian media presenter/personality, Mike Walsh, and renovations costing $21 million had just been carried out. At this time, no one had seen the makeover so there were numerous oohs and aahs from the invited guests. | ||
